A Coffee Break of Inspirational Leadership: Where Are You Headed?

Feeling foggy. Traffic at work. Sometimes they aren't just metaphors but real.

We all get stuck. Really.

WE ALL GET STUCK. And even those who look like they might have it all really might feel stuck.

Sometimes we talk to others about it, and other times its the reason behind sleepless nights and wandering off mid-conversation or in the middle of a meeting.

There is a comfort that can arise from being patient with ourselves and the situations we find ourselves in. And it's okay not to know exactly where you are going. A few days ago I had a conversation with a dear mentor who asked, "Where do you see yourself in 5 years" and I'll admit. I had no response.

I don't always know where I'm going but I try to find the upside in that. First, I have faith in the universe that when you put good out in comes back to you tenfold. Sometimes its in opportunities you might never have come across. Sometimes its the unintended conversations that manifest in situations weeks, months, and years later that change the trajectory of your life.

Secondly, having twins nearly fourteen years ago taught me that life is what happens when you're busy planning. The best laid plans can go sideways and what you get instead can bring greater joy, happiness, and peace in ways you could never have imagined.

We're surrounded by people who adult differently. Some want to protect their status quo. Others want to move up as quickly as possible, at all costs. Some check boxes. Some throw away the boxes.

Push past what you've envisioned. Keep your options open. And put good out in the universe so it can reward you in unimaginable ways.

And surround yourself with people on a similar journey.

Check this out. And...hey....happy Monday!

Want to go a little deeper. Great article from The Huffington Post on destinations. Take a look and read it HERE.

Love this video with Brene Brown and Oprah. I often try to find videos that support the theme that are short, and it wouldn't be this one. But the uplift you'll feel after you listen to these two talking about bravery, vulnerability and risk taking.

Check them out - half a million others have, so there must be something to this one.

* Share it.

Can you print these and share them? Notes to colleagues on key topics like resilience, patience, stick-to-itness....here you go.

Now go slay yet another week!
