Any adult in a leadership position, working with students, has the ability to make an impact. And sometimes just seeing students as individuals is a huge feat.
What I love about this video is that, not only does the coach personalize his greeting to each, but its focuses on the 4 C's: creativity, communication, critical thinking and collaboration.
Consider using it in a workshop - have attendees create a handshake greeting like this coach did and have them reinforce the 4 C's....or better yet, encourage teachers (and principals) to find a similar way to acknowledge each student for who he or she is.
And then smile.
